Bérangère Armand is entrusted with a mission for the Culture Department of the City of Cannes to imagine a cultural place in the City’s former maritime station by Georges Buzzi, an astonishing building from the fifties, a rare example of modernist architecture on the Côte d’Azur. In addition, a study on the restoration and importance of the site specific work of Roger Capron will be submitted. This work, exceptional in its scale, constitutes a turning point in the artist’s gesture. Heirs to the tradition of Bauhaus and De Stilj, the duo Buzzi and Capron offer us a unique incarnation of their masters’ ideal of collaboration between art, craftsmanship and architecture.
